Cardfight!! Vanguard's Winners and Losers of 2013

In life there are winners and losers! Look at the Dallas Cowboys. They know what it is like to be a loser every year! Let's look at Cardfight!! Vanguard's winners and losers of 2013!

Link Joker!

Link Joker has emerged as the top clan in the game. Its' lock ability greatly cripples opposites. Link Joker's superstar Star-vader Chaos Breaker Dragon is one of the most powerful cards in the game. He is truly a game breaker!

Toshiki Kai

Kai is now the strongest fighter! He has the strongest clan Link Joker to crush his weak opponents! His character received major development. Kai was against using special powers, but now he is living through the experience of having a special power.

Gold Paladin

Salvation Lion, Grand Ezel Scissors is one of the strongest cards in the game. He's the man! Not even Link Joker can put him down!

Ren Suzugamori

Ren is a big winner this year! His high school won the high school card fighting tournament! More importantly, Ren had a special arc just for him! It was very refreshing to have someone different in the spotlight!

The English Anime Dub

Where do I start? The actors, directing, and writing are awful. Why are all of the cool chats removed from the English version? Instead we receive boring chats and speeches from characters. The English translation is a complete fail.
Royal Paladin

Shocking isn't it? Royal Paladins have the weakest break ride unit Pure Heart Jewel Knight, Ashlei. Her skill is a joke. It screams perfect guard. The Royal Paladins deserve a new break ride unit with more abilities.

Asaka Narumi

Asaka fought so hard for Ren's love to only get put in the friend's zone. Sorry! The game of love is a tricky game. Some of us are winners with the heart. While others like us are not so lucky with love.

Oracle Think Tank

What happen here? Oracle Think Tank did not receive any support from Season 3. The anime doesn't have an Oracle Think Tank player since Misaki Tokrua switched to Genesis. They're not the biggest losers this year. Oracle Think Tank did receive new support from the manga in an extra booster set.

Biggest Loser

This one was very obvious. Megacolony is the black sheep in Cardfight!! Vanguard. It is the laughingstock on Cray. Megacolony has not received any support this year. The clan doesn't have a Break Ride unit. That's not the worst of it! Link Joker replaced Megacolony.

Merry Christmas card fighters and duelist! I hope everyone will have a fun and happy holidays! Hopefully we have plenty of booster boxes and decks under the tree! It's not time to duel because I'm taking the week off for the holidays! See ya next week!

Unit of The Week: Ambush Dragon Eradicator, Linchu

A fool will mistake a little dragon for a lizard.
[AUTO]: Forerunner (When a unit of the same clan rides this unit, you may call this unit to (RC))
[AUTO](RC):[Counter Blast (1) & Put this unit into your soul] When an attack hits a vanguard during the battle that this unit boosted a unit with "Eradicator" in its card name, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your opponent's grade 1 or less rear-guards, and retire it.
The Eradicators are here! Their starter, Ambush Dragon Eradicator, Linchu is running wild on the battlefield to crush the weak links! Grade 0 and Grade 1 units run in fear because their end is near!

Linchu's best asset his ability to retire opponent's starting vanguards and skillful grade 1 units. His only purpose is to cause dysfunction. He can limit or slowdown decks. He stops many good starters such as Lizard Soldier, Conroe and Wingal Brave. Strong grade 1 units will bite the dust.

In closing, Ambush Dragon Eradicator, Linchu is a fine starter for Eradicators. His retiring ability stays true to the Eradicator's theme. Use this little guy to stop your opponent from using their starter's and grade 1 units' strong skills.

Card Discussion: Endymion, the Master Magician

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand or Graveyard) by removing 6 Spell Counters from a "Magical Citadel of Endymion" you control. When you do: Target 1 Spell Card in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. Once per turn: You can discard 1 Spell Card, then target 1 card on the field; destroy that target.
Endymion, The Master Magician is one of the most destructive Spellcasters in Yu-Gi-Oh! He has a very respectable 2,700 attack points and 1,700 defense points. This power magician is easy to special summon thanks to Magical Citadel of Endymion and Temperance of Prophecy.

Endymion, The Master Magician's effect can be used once per turn to destroy any card on the field. This skill is well balanced and very good in a Spellcaster deck. However, the effect has an important cost and that is the player must discard one spell card to activate the effect. This isn't a big problem because he should have plenty of fuel for the effect's cost because Spellcaster decks are filled with Spell cards. A player can discard a dead card to destroy any card of his or her choice. Nothing is safe from Endymion! Monsters, Spells, and Traps will fall to his mighty wand!

Furthermore, Endymion, The Master Magician is an interesting monster in Spellbook and Prophecy decks. He is easily summoned directly from the deck with Temperance of Prophecy's effect. Endymion and High Priestess of Prophecy are a very chaotic duo with double the destructive power! His effect's discard cost is not a problem because Spellbook of the Master can copy of the effect of a normal Spellbook Spell card in the graveyard!

Endymion, The Master Magician's and High Priestess of Prophecy's Tag Team Combo!
Requirements: Endymion, The Master Magician and High Priestess of Prophecy on the field.  You'll also need Spellbook of Power and Spellbook of the Master in the hand.

Step 1: Activate Endymion's effect by discarding the Spellbook of Power. Now you can destroy one card on the field!
Step 2: Activate Spellbook of the Master to copy Spellbook of Power's effect and give the effect to either Spellcaster.
Step 3: Activate High Priestess of Prophecy's effect by banishing the Spellbook of Power and then destroy one card on the field!
Step 4: Destroy a monster on the field with the Spellcaster who has Spellbook of Power's effect to draw a Spellbook Spell card from the deck. This step is optional if your opponent doesn't have a monster on the field.

In closing, Endymion, The Master Magician is a bad man. He is very underrated in today's game. Endymion shouldn't be a bench warmer. Endymion should be in the starting lineup for tonight's match! He has very good attack points at 2,700. His effect can be very devastating especially when combined with the High Priestess of Prophecy.

Unit of The Week: Leading Jewel Knight, Salome

Come forth, my comrades! Praying Flash!
[AUTO](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):When this unit attacks, if the number of rear-guards you have with "Jewel Knight" in its card name is four or more, this unit gets [Power]+2000/[Critical]+1 until end of that battle.
[ACT](VC):[Counter Blast (2)-card with "Jewel Knight" in its card name] Search your deck for up to one card with "Jewel Knight" in its card name, call it to (RC), and shuffle your deck.
The Jewel Knights are the proud warriors from the Royal Paladin clan. They've become the new leaders of the Royal Paladins since King Alfred assigned himself along with many former Royal Paladins to the Gold Paladin clan. Salome was appointed to be the new light in the Royal Paladin clan!

Feel the Jewel Knights' leader's limit break! Well, let's slowdown. Salome's limit break alone isn't a big threat. However, her limit break can become problematic when she break rides above Pure of Heart Jewel Knight Ashlei! Salome will have 22,000 power and 2 critical during the break ride turn. Everyone's favorite dog Toypugal can give an additional 9,000 power boost to make her total power 31,000! Now she is more of a threat and forces an opponent to use a perfect guard.

Furthermore, her second skill helps her achieve her limit break. She can superior call one Jewel Knight unit to the rear guard. Any Jewel Knight can be superior call regardless of the unit's grade. A player can either go for a strong attacker or a very good booster.

Unfortunately, her skills only work with Jewel Knights especially a in a deck build around herself. A player can't splash her into any deck. She needs Jewel Knights or she will be very useless. This is pretty sad seeing that she is a Royal Paladin and their theme is social solidarity. This can be very contradicting.

In conclusion, the Jewel Knight's leader Salome needs a deck built around her. She works well with her comrades. She continues the Royal Paladins' social solidarity team with her limit break skill by gaining power and critical damage when battling aside her fellow Jewel Knights.

The Top 5 Amazon Stores For You Card Gaming Needs!

Everyone is gearing up for the holidays! My fellow duelist and card fighters will spend their holiday cash on new cards. It's fun to shop online. However, some online vendors are unprofessional. This leads to some players not buying cards online. It's very understandable because some owners are not professional and will take advantage of buyers.

Amazon is one of the best online stores to shop at online. You as a consumer are protected by Amazon's policies and standards. They will prevent shady stores from taking advantage of customers. You will receive a full refund if your vendor makes a mistake or simply fails to send the product. Amazon will take good care of you. Thankfully these situations are very rare.

I received my last order in three days.

2. HotSauceGames

Another good store to buy cards from on Amaon is HotSauceGames. Their standard shipping rate is very low at .25 cents. That's a really good deal. I've purchased cards from on multiple occasions. I recently purchased an Effect Veiler from them and came in perfect condition.

3. Real_Goodeal

I haven't shot any videos for the YouTube channel in a few months. Don't worry! I will be shooting new videos very soon. My best friend and cameraman will be in town for Christmas. He's got some new fancy new equipment to play with! The new videos will have much better quality. The older videos were filmed with his Iphone5. I'm now stepping up my game!

Sadly, the channel is lacking Cardfight!! Vanguard videos. Four videos aren't nearly enough videos. I want players to find plenty of content on my channel. There will be a few upcoming openings. Unfortunately, my decks are not complete so I'm unable to shoot any Cardfight!! Vanguard deck profiles.

Be on the lookout for my upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! videos. I will have new opening videos in the next few months. Most of the openings will be booster packs, starter decks, and structure decks. I might shoot a few videos featuring tins. It took me many months to finally complete my Supreme Spellcaster deck and now I am going to shoot a deck profile video!

I am also expanding into classic card games and trading cards that I enjoyed while growing up. MegaMan is one of my favorite hobbies. Be on the lookout for Dragon Ball Z, MegaMan NT Warrior Trading Card Game, The Walking Dead, and Power Rangers Action Card Game openings!

Unit of The Week: Salvation Lion, Grand Ezel Scissors

Release, King of Beasts! Salvation Roar!
[ACT](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):[Counter Blast (2) & Soul Blast (2)] Unlock all of your locked cards, and if you have five «Gold Paladin» rear-guards, this unit gets [Power]+10000/[Critical]+1 until end of turn, and at the end of that turn, Soul Charge (1), choose a card from your damage zone, and turn it face up.
[CONT](VC):During your turn, this unit gets [Power]+1000 for each of your «Gold Paladin» rear-guards.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
Blond Ezel is back and better than ever! The planet Cray is in desperate need for help! The darkness is overcoming the light! Cray's mighty warriors are being REVERSED by the wicked Void. Don't let the Void conquer Cray and Earth. Fight alongside the true vanguard Blaster Blade and defeat the Void!

Salvation Lion, Grand Ezel Scissors is a great card against Link Joker decks. He completely shuts down Star-Vader, Chaos Breaker Dragon. Grand Ezel's limit break unlocks every locked unit. Every unlocked unit is now able to attack. This puts more pressure than normal against Link Joker. Star-Vader, Chaos Breaker Dragon is unable to take advantage of his second skill.

Most importantly, his limit break also grants him 10,000 power and an additional critical. Wow! Talk about punishing Link Joker players. Grand Ezel's limit break is a huge power increase. Grand Ezel can continue using this skill every turn because he can soul charge one card and turn up one card from the damage zone.

Is Salvation Lion, Grand Ezel Scissors broken? He has the cheapest cost for 10,000 power and an additional critical. He gains 15,000 power which includes the 1,000 power from each rear guard. Let's take a look at a card who gains a high amount of power. Liberator of the Round Table, Alfred gains 10,000 power from his limit break, and he is clearly stoppable. However, Alfred doesn't gain the additional critical damage. This puts Grand Ezel on another level.

In conclusion, Salvation Lion, Brand Ezel is the best unit to counter Link Joker decks. No other unit is in that discussion. Ezel unlocks units and gain enormous power. He can also turn damage face up and soul charge cards to continue to use his powerful limit break. The jokes on you Link Joker! Do you think Salvation Lion, Grand Ezel is a balanced or broken card? Post your comments below!

Card Fighter Spotlight: Aichi Sendou Part 1-A Card Fighter's Journey

I've been dying to write about this young man for a long time. The time has come to put Aichi Sendou into the spotlight! Part 1 focuses on the beginning of Aichi's journey. Aichi was a very sloppy and bad player. He was determined to improve his skills for he will be able to challenge Kai to a real fight. Everyone starts at that same point. New card fighters will learn how to become better players by playing Cardfight!! Vanguard.

Aichi was a beginner at the start of the series. He made a Royal Paladin deck to play against Kai, and never played against anyone. Kai taught him the basic rules. Aichi jumps right in with basic plays just like any beginner would for the very first time.

Surprisingly, Aichi didn't know what a grade 3 unit is. His Royal Paladin deck didn't have a grade 3 unit until episode 5. This is shocking because he played against Kai who uses Dragonic Overlord. Furthermore, he built a deck. How did he get his cards? Did he buy a defective trial deck that was missing a grade 3 or did he buy a lot of booster packs?

In addition, Aichi's deck had major issues. His card lineup was all over the place. Aichi's deck's heart and soul was Blaster Blade. He is regularly refers to Blaster Blade as his "avatar". King of Knights, Alfred and Soul Savior Dragon became Aichi's ace grade 3 bosses. He relied on them in many of his matches. However, he only has one copy of each card. If he didn't draw the cards then he would be in a very bad situation.

Furthermore, Aichi had a problem guarding too early in the game. Aichi was very drunk on guarding. He tried to guard nearly every attack in his first few games. This often led to him lacking enough cards to guard with in the late game. He ran out of cards during his first match against Misaki. "The Great One" Kamui mentions Aichi's misplays in their very first match. Kamui said Aichi didn't need to guard against the early attacks. His defending was totally unnecessary. It cost him the game because he didn't have enough cards to guard with in the late game.

Finally, Aichi's biggest weakness was his lack of knowledge. He didn't know opposing clan's abilities and strategies. He wasn't able to counter his opponent's game plans. Everything came as a surprise to him. This confused and flustered him as he responded with many misplays.

In conclusion, Aichi was having a very hard time at the start. He was just learning the ropes. A weak card fighter will have his ups and downs. Becoming a great card fighter is a long process that requires plenty of practice. Aichi is on his way to becoming the world's strongest card fighter. Be sure to turn in for Part 2 when I discuss Aichi's development in the second half of season 1!

Unit of The Week: Silent Tom

Huh, if you want to capture me, bring along a fine lady.
[CONT](VC/RC):During a battle that this unit attacks, if you have an «Oracle Think Tank» vanguard, your opponent cannot normal call grade 0 units to (GC).
Beware of the vanguard in black. Grade 0 and grade 1 units fear him. Grade 2 units wonder why the lower grade units aren't helping their defenses. Vanguards are nearly defenseless against him! That's right! You know the man in black. His name is Silent Tom!

Silent Tom is an excellent rear guard unit. He adds pressure on the opponent because they can only defend with grade two units to block his attacks. Maximize his power by boosting him with Oracle Guardian, Gemini. An opponent with an 11,000 vanguard must guard with two cards instead of one.

In addition, it is best to save Silent Tom for the last attack. A player can apply trigger effects to him. This is a very good strategy. Silent Tom with Oracle Guardian, Gemini's boost, an additional 5,000 power, and a critical is difficult guard against. That is a total of 21000 power and 2 critical damage. An opponent will be unable to handle this attack if he or she is lacking grade 2 units in their hands.

Finally, it is best to call Silent Tom to the rear guard during the late game. An opponent will rear him if he is played early in the match. Maximize his potential by playing him in the late game. He has a better chance of lasting longer in the late game.

In conclusion, Silent Tom is an amazing Oracle Think Tank unit. Opponents only option to block his attacks is by using grade 2 units. This makes up for his mediocre 8,000 power. He is an amazing rear guard for the late game.

Card Discussion: Secret Village of The Spellcasters vs The Grand Spellbook Tower

Spellcasters are blessed with two of the best field cards in the game. Secret Village of The Spellcasters and The Grand Spellbook Tower are great cards for Spellcaster decks. The best card for your deck depends on what you're aiming for in the deck. Let's discuss which field card is the best fit for your Spellcaster deck!

Secret Village of The Spellcasters

If you control a Spellcaster-Type monster and your opponent does not, your opponent cannot activate Spell Cards. If you control no Spellcaster-Type monsters, you cannot activate Spell Cards.

Secret Village of The Spellcasters is powerful because it limits your opponent's option. They must have a Spellcaster on the field to use spell cards if not then they are limited to monsters and traps. This a huge advantage because nearly every deck depends on spells. Nearly half of your opponent's deck is unplayable. They cannot activate a Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Secret Village of The Spellcasters. Their only way around this problem is by activating a monster's effect, trap card, or summoning Effect Veiler and then playing Mystical Space Typhoon.

Unfortunately, Secret Village of The Spellcasters's effect can backfire on the user. If the user doesn't have a Spellcaster in play then he or she is unable to active spell cards. Effect Veiler is a very common card in many decks so opponents will be able to summon it and play Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Secret Village of The Spellcasters.

The Grand Spellbook Tower

Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, if you have a Spellcaster-Type monster on your side of the field or in your Graveyard: You can return 1 "Spellbook" Spell Card from your Graveyard to the bottom of your Deck, except "The Grand Spellbook Tower", then draw 1 card. When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand or Deck whose Level is less than or equal to the number of "Spellbook" Spell Cards in your Graveyard.

The Grande Spellbook Tower is very easy to play. It is a searchable card with Spellbook of Secrets. A player would be able to activate the card very early in the game as soon as the first turn.

Furthermore, The Grand Spellbook Tower is famous for its draw engine. It returns one Spellbook spell card from the graveyard to the deck and then the player will draw a card. The player is drawing two cards per turn. Hand advantage is a major factor in Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Lastly, it is not easy to destroy. Destroying this field card is major consequences. A player will be able to special summon a Spellcaster from the deck whose level is equal to or less than the amount of Spellbook spell cards in the graveyard. A player would pretty much special summon a boss monster such as World of Prophecy or High Priestess of Prophecy.

It is very dependent upon Spellbooks in the graveyard. It's draw engine is very useless without Spellbook spell cards in the graveyard. Very few Spellbooks in the graveyard hinders its options to special summon a Spellcaster from the deck when it is destroyed by an opponent.

In conclusion, both field cards are great in their own rights. There's no going wrong with which card you choose for a Spellcaster deck. Heck you can even choose both of them to be in your deck. You can either limit your opponent's options or draw an additional card per turn. Which field cards is better Secret Village of The Spellcasters or The Grand Spellbook Tower? Which field card is best for your deck? Discuss in the comments below!

Unit of The Week: Perfect Guards

This week is a special edition of Unit of The Week. I'm not discussing just one unit. I'm discussing the all-important Perfect Guards! You know all about them and love them when they save you in battle. Perfect Guards are our vanguards' ultimate protectors!

Perfect guards are a must have in every deck. They can block almost every attack in the game. A Perfect Guard can be the difference between winning and losing a game. That's why perfect guards are so important in the game. They are the difference makers in the late game. Grade 3 vanguards can rep up critical damage and the power beyond a player's current shielding options. Also players cannot take a risk by guarding against strong grade 3 units with grade 1's and grade 2's because an opponent could get the triggers he or she needs to break through the shield.

Cardfight!! Vanguard TCG - Halo's Shield, Mark

Furthermore, every deck should run the maximum 4 perfect guards. There's no debate about this subject matter. 4 Perfect Guards give the player the best chance of drawing one than having less than 4 Perfect Guards. Any deck with less than 4 Perfect Guards is at a huge disadvantage. You would have a smaller chance of drawing a Perfect Guard. Give yourself the best opportunity to draw a Perfect Guard by having 4 in the deck.

More importantly, Perfect Guards have many important uses. Perfect Guards have the same abilities as other grade 1 units. They can ride the vanguard circle and they can be called to the rear guard to boost attacking units. If a player's starting hand's only grade 1 is a perfect guard then he or she can ride it.

In addition, Summoning Jewel Knight, Gloria changes the game! Gloria is a new type of guard known as Quintet Wall who doesn't require a player to discard a cost to activate its effect. Instead Gloria's skill requires the player to call the deck's top five cards to the guardian circle. Cardfight!! Vanguard experts estimated that the average shield will be 25,000. 25,000 shield combined with the vanguard's power is powerful enough to block most attacks. She can conflict with the deck's amount of Perfect Guards because she is also has the Sentinel limit. Keep this in mind if you're going to add Gloria or any future Quintet Wall units in your deck.

In conclusion, every deck needs 4 perfect guards especially in the game's current state. Perfect Guards are indeed the perfect defense against almost any attack. Don't worry about the cost of buying a Perfect Guard. Perfect Guards' prices are falling due to reprints or new Perfect Guards for clans. You're be able to have 4 Perfect Guards in your deck in no time! Now get your decks read and play Cardfight!! Vanguard!

The AWESOME Rare Yu-Gi-Oh! Collection!

Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of my favorite pastimes. It is one of the best collectible card games. There are so many awesome cards to collect and almost every card as a rarity print. If you can imagine it then there is a Yu-Gi-Oh! card for it! Dragons, knights, wizards, machines, and so much more live in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!

I first started playing Yu-Gi-Oh! when it was first released in the US. My friends and I had duels everyday on the school bus. Win or lose it was all fun! Unfortunately there were some jerks in middle school who stole my cards, and I lost my interest in the game. There were so many people trying to steal players' cards that I didn't want to invest in cards that may get stolen.

The spark returned in the spring of 2012. I started buying tons of new Yu-Gi-Oh! booster packs, special edition boxes, starter decks, structure decks, and tins. It was so exciting to buy singles of my favorite classic cards like Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. Every week there was something new to buy. It became so exciting to open booster packs to see if I got a foil card! I haven't felt this much fun in a very long time.

Collecting Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and playing the game is a very joyful experience. I am glad the passion is back! My main focus is to build creative decks and collecting more rare cards. I am feeling the flow! Check out the video above and see my entire rare card collection!

Unit of The Week: Holy Disaster Dragon

Burst, the holy lightning! Holy Charging Thunder!
[AUTO](VC/RC):[Choose a «Royal Paladin» from your hand, and discard it] When this unit attacks, you may pay the cost. If you do, this unit gets [Power]+5000 until end of that battle.
The holy knights, Royal Paladins have a holy disaster on their hands! Their disaster will bring fear into their opponents. Even the Void will avoid this disaster! The Royal Paladin's disaster is none other than the Holy Disaster Dragon! Holy and disaster put together in a name! Talk about an oxymoron!

Wow! Holy Disaster Dragon's attack power can reach high numbers! He gains 5,000 power from his skill with a cost of discarding a card. Holy Disaster Dragon's power becomes 34,000 combined with his skill, Soul Saver Dragon's soul blast and Toypugal's skill. Holy Disaster Dragon is able to reach higher stages than Swordsman of the Explosive Flames, Palamedes. Palamedes would only have 32,000 attack power under the same conditions, and a 13k vanguard only needs 20,000 shield to defend against the attack. Holy Disaster Dragon forces a 13k vanguard to defend with 25,000 power.

However, Holy Disaster Dragon's skill is very powerful at a high price. Hand advantage is very important in Cardfight!! Vanguard. His skill may not always be available or wise to use during the late game. You want to make sure you have enough cards defend yourself and replenish your field. Use his skill with some condition.

In conclusion, Holy Disaster Dragon is a very powerful card. His attack power gives a lot of pressure during the late game. The high powered attacks can be difficult to defend against. However, one must be careful when activating his skill. A player must be sure that he or she has enough cards available to discard. Holy Disaster Dragon is a fun card to play with. You just have to use his skill sparingly.

Unit of The Week: Armor Break Dragon

Only victory is acceptable! Leave everything behind, and defeat the enemy!
[ACT](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):[Counter Blast (3) & Choose three cards from your hand, and discard them] Retire all rear-guards in each fighter's front row, and this unit gets [Power]+10000/[Critical]+2 until end of turn.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
Unleash your armor! What protected you is now powering you! Naoki Ishida is the proud user of Armor Break Dragon. He lost the match when he first played this unit. Surprisingly, he bounced back and won when he tried the card again! Is Armor Break Dragon that powerful or very overrated?

Wow! Armor Break Dragon's Limit Break looks dangerous! He can retire all front row rear-guards in both players' front row. He also gains two criticals! That's a total of 3 critical damage before the Twin Drive! Armor Break Dragon looks like a bad man. Wait? What did you say? Perfect what?

Did someone say perfect guard? Armor Break Dragon's skill requires too many resources to be blocked by a perfect guard. His Limit Break costs three Counter Blasts and discarding three cards to the drop zone.  Armor Break Dragon is a minus six (3CB and 3 discarded cards). A player cannot afford to throw away such precious resources.

In conclusion, Armor Break Dragon isn't a great card. Armor Break Dragon is the type of guy who is over-hyped and will be the number one overall draft pick. However, he won't see any time off the bench to play competitively. He requires too many resources for one overpowered attack. An opponent will easily block the attack with a perfect guard.

Unit of The Week: Great Silver Wolf, Garmore

Roar, silver wolf of the Gods! Glorious Break!
[AUTO](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):When this unit attacks a vanguard, this unit gets [Power]+5000 until end of that battle.
[AUTO]:[Counter Blast (2)] When this unit is placed on (VC), you may pay the cost. If you do, search from your deck for up to one grade 2 or less «Gold Paladin», call it to (RC), and shuffle your deck.
Planet Cray is searching for new leaders. A new clan rises to the challenge! The Gold Paladins will return Cray to its glory days! The Void will be vanquished! The Great Silver Wolf, Garmore has accepted the challenge and will help his friend Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel!

Great Silver Wolf, Garmore's limit break is the stereotypical limit break. He gains 5,000 power when attacking the vanguard. This skill appears to be better than Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel's skill because Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel's skill strongly depends on the amount of Gold Paladin rear guards on the field. Garmore does not face this issue. He will gain power regardless of how many Gold Paladin rear guards are on his side of the field!

Furthermore, his second skill makes him a very good vanguard. He can superior call any grade 2 or less Gold Paladin from the deck to the rear guard circle. His skill is consistent unlike Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel. Blond Ezel superiors call the top card on the deck, and that can be any card. The player may call a trigger or useless unit in a situation. On the other hand, Garmore allows the player to pick the best card for the situation.

Finally, it was very disappointing to see Aichi only play Great Silver Wolf, Garmore once. Great Silver Wolf, Garmore made his one and only appearance in Episode 68: Team Q4, Once More (watch the episode in the video above). This is just poor deck building by Aichi. Why did Aichi remove Garmore so quickly from his deck? He was only running one Blond Ezel so he really needed a strong card like Great Silver Wolf, Garmore.

In conclusion, Great Silver Wolf, Garmore is one of the best Gold Paladin units. He is also one of the best grade 3 units from the trial decks. His ability to call any grade 2 or less Gold Paladin can help a player refill his or her rear guard circles, and allows him or her to choose the unit. It can also be argued that he is a better card than  Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel because his skills are consistent unlike Blond Ezel's skills.

Card Fighter Spotlight: Leon Soryu

Let's take a look at season two's main antagonist Leon Soryu. Leon Soryu is the proud leader of the Soryu people. Nothing will stand in his way to reclaim his family's past glory. He is one of the most aggressive card fighters. His clan the Aqua Force is known for its aggressive assaults with 3 or more attacks per turn. Leon Soryu has a respectable 7-2 record.

Leon Soryu makes his debut in Episode 83 The Legendary Fighter. He challenges Daigo to an intense card fight. Leon defeats Daigo by using Trial Deck 7: Descendants of the Marine Emperor. It is impressive to use a basic trial deck without any perfect guards, and win the match against a completed deck. Leon shows that he has true skill. Leon dominated Daigo from start to finish. His fierce tactics overwhelmed Daigo's defenses.

Furthermore, Leon has excellent deck building skills. All of his units nicely work together in perfect harmony. Near the end of season 2, Blue Storm Supreme Dragon, Glory Maelstrom becomes Leon's ace card. He takes advantage of his opponent's inability to guard with grade 1 and grade 2 units against Glory Maelstorm's attack.

Every turn in the late game against Leon could be your last. Opponents struggle against Leon in the late game when Leon's field is full. Leon unleashes the full power of the Aqua Force by at least attacking 4 times during a turn and using all of his units' skills that activate during particular turns.

However, a great Cardfight!! Vanguard player is able to play with multiple decks. Aichi, Kai, Misaki and Ren have been very successful with multiple clans. We have yet to see Leon play with a different clan. It's very unlikely due to his close bond with the Aqua Force. This is very disappointing because Leon is considered to be one of the strongest fighters in the anime.

In conclusion, Leon Soryu has truly mastered his people's clan the Aqua Force. He has proven himself to be a strong card fighter. Leon has a very impressive debut by using a beginner's trial deck to defeat the legendary Daigo! Most importantly, he is a great deck builder who to use his units together. However, I rank Kai, Misaki, and Ren above Leon because they have been successful with multiple clans.

Unit of The Week: Navalgazer Dragon

Listen to the Blue Dragon’s roar, which can even make the seas boil!
[ACT](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):[Counter Blast (2)] Until end of turn, this unit gets [Power]+3000 and "[AUTO](VC):When this unit's attack hits a vanguard, if it is the third battle of that turn or more, choose up to two of your «Aqua Force» rear-guards, and [Stand] them.".
[AUTO](VC):When this unit attacks, if it is the third battle of that turn or more, this unit gets [Power]+3000 until end of that battle.
Powerful warriors and dragons lurk in the depths of Cray's deep waters. The Aqua Force is the world's strongest navy. They command the deep blue seas! Navalgazer Dragon is one of the strongest commanders in the Aqua Force navy. He now lends his strength to the Soryu people to reclaim their glory!

Watch Out! Navalgazer Dragon's limit break is very dangerous, and it makes him the best grade 3 unit from the trial decks. He gains 3,000 power from the limit break in addition to the 3,000 gained from his normal skill. Opponents don't want his attack to hit the vanguard because if it does hit then two aqua force rear guards will stand. Navalgazer forces opponents to guard against him or suffer an additional attack. This can potentially lead to major card advantage in the late game.

Furthermore, Navalgazer Dragon becomes a 26,000 attacker when boosted by Battle Siren, Dorothea. Both units work very well together. Battle Siren, Dorothea gains an additional 4,000 power when attacking in the third turn or more. Battle Siren, Dorothea becomes a 10,000 booster!

In conclusion, Navalgazer Dragon is the best grade 3 unit from a trial deck. His limit break puts a mountain of pressure on the opponent. His limit break has the potential to stand two additional units. The player can either stand a rear guard column or stand the front row rear guards. Feel the power of the mighty Aqua Force!

The Top Ten Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards That Need Reprints!

Konami has done a great job at reprinting many classic cards in the Mega Packs and Legendary Collections. Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World was just released with many classic favorites! However, there are some cards that badly need reprints. Many Yu-Gi-Oh! cards have not been reprinted in many years. Here are my top 10 cards that need a reprint soon!

1. High Priestess of Prophecy

I know what you are saying. This card was first released last year, and that is very true. However, if Konami wants to continue to push players to play Prophecy then they need to re-release the High Priestess of Prophecy.

2. Stardust Dragon

Stardust Dragon is screaming for a reprint. He is Yusei's ace card in Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's. Stardust Dragon's last reprint was in Turbo Pack: Booster Six. That booster set was released in 2011. However, it was only released at tournament locations. If you didn't go to an official tournament then you were out of luck.

3. Dragunity Knight Vajrayana

Dragunity decks are very popular on Dueling Network. I'm always matched against Dragunity players on Dueling Network. Dragunity Knight Vajrayana's only TCG release was in 2010 in Starstrike Blast. Come on Konami and reprint this card!

4. Nurse Reficule the Fallen One

Nurse Reficule the Fallen One's only TCG release was in 2008 as a promo in Yu-Gi-Oh GX Tag Force Evolution. A re-release is way overdue!

5. Elemental Hero Absolute Zero

I need a hero who is a zero! Elemental Hero Absolute Zero is one of the most popular and useful Elemental Hero cards. He is stable in many Elemental Hero decks. Elemental Hero Absolute Zero has only been released as a promo in 2010 in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Volume 4, and in 2011 in Generation Force: Special Edition.

6. Darkflare Dragon

Let's get a reprint of Darkflare Dragon. His only release was in the Dragons Collide structure deck. Dragons Collide can be very expensive. The structure deck can cost up to $40 depending on the seller's price.

7. Lightpulsar Dragon

See Darkflare Dragon above! Lightpuslar Dragon is in the same boat with Darkflare Dragon. Both cards were only released in a now expensive structure deck

8. Skull Meister

Skull Meister is a nice anti-meta card. He cans slowdown decks that rely on effects activating in the graveyard. However, he is in of a reprint. He is another from Starstrike Blast who doesn't have a reprint. Are we seeing a pattern?

9. Hundred Eyes Dragon

Wow! A dragon with one hundred eyes must have very good eyesight. His one and only release was in the Duelist Pack Collection Tin 2011.

10. Tuning

Is it me or does Konami dislike reprinting cards from Starstrike Blast? It would be nice to finally see Tuning get a reprint. Tuning's only release was in 2010 in Starstrike Blast. A reprint would be especially good because Synchro monsters are trying to make a big comeback.
