Blaster Dark Revenger's Skill Revealed!

Blessed are those who receive the light. Shadow has but one way it must go.

AUTO]:[Counter Blast (2)] When this unit is placed on (VC) or (RC), if you have a vanguard with "Revenger" in its card name, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your opponent's rear-guards in the front row, and retire it.

I must say that I am a bit disappointed in his skill. The good thing is that his skill is not limited to the Vanguard circle like his previous version. However, the bad news is his lack of defense. Blaster Dark Revenger does not receive an additional 1,000 power from his skill like the original Blaster Dark. Blaster Dark's defense made it difficult for Blaster Blade to use Wingal Brave's skill. Overall it appears to be atleast a decent card.

Which one do you like more the original Blaster Dark or the new Blaster Dark Revenger?

Unit of The Week: King of Demonic Seas, Basskirk

This is the door to the Demonic Seas. Open, Bermuda Gate!
AUTO 【V】: At the beginning of your main phase, Soul Charge (1), and this unit gets Power +2000 until end of turn. ACT 【V/R】: [Soul Blast (8), Counterblast (5)] Choose up to five 《Granblue》 from your Drop Zone and call them to separate Rear-guard Circles.

Rise from the depths of the ocean! Pirates never die! The pirates are going to make you walk the plank! King of Deomic Seas, Basskirk is a very powerful Granblue unit. He gains 2,000 power with his soul charge skill. His soul blast can call up to five Granblue units to the rear guard. Additionally many of these units have good rear guard skills. For example when Rough Seas Banshee is called to the rear guard you can soul charge it to draw a card. A player can superior call as many Rough Sea Banshee as he or she can with Basskirk's skill to make a wicked skill combo!

Card Fighting At Locals!

I brought an awesome new card binder at my locals! The design is pretty sweet! I love the back having Dragonic Overlord The End, Majesty Lord Blaster, and Phantom Blaster Overlord! It maybe small, but its perfect for my rare cards!

Today I got the draw trigger card Margal from a booster pack. I wanted to test its skill with my grade 3 Exculpate the Blaster.
units. I wanted to find out if the additional 3,000 power would be good for pushing for game and combining its skill with

Me and my friend decided to have a game. He used a Kagero deck against my Royal Paladin deck! It was intense! My plan was to test Exculpate the Blaster.

I made a huge mistake during the game. During my second turn I had Solitary Knight, Gancelot in my hand, and instead of using his skill I road Knight of Silence, Gallatin. Then the next turn I minus by using Gancelot's skill to draw Blaster Blade and road him to be able to use Exculpate the Blaster. However, this mistake became a blessing.

Exculpate the Blaster entered the battlefield! I used Margal's skill to add 3,000 power to Exculpate The Blaster. Not only does this give Exculpate the Blaster 3,000 power it also gives him another card to gain 2,000 power from the soul. It was time to activate Exculpate the Blaster's counter blast! I removed Wingal, Gallatin, Margal, and Grancelot from the soul! Exculpate the Blaster had 28,000 power including the boost from Wingal Brave , Margal's skill, and removing four cards from the soul. However, my friend blocked my attack with a 40,000 shield, but he had to empty his hand to protect his vanguard. Exculpate the Blaster retired all five of his rear guard units. The following turn Blaster Blade won the game!

Starter
Wingal Brave x1

Future Knight, Llew x1

Grade 3

Solitary Knight, Gancelot x2
Twin Shine Swordsman, Marhaus x1

My friend made some quick changes to his Kagero deck. He added three copies of Prowling Dragon, Striken and one copy of Dragonic Overlord The End. Lucky for me that he only has one copy of Dragonic Overlord The End!

We tested his reconstructed Kagero deck against my custom Nova Grapplers deck. His Prowling Dragon, Striken created a big problem! Prowling Dragon, Strike is unable to attack, but his skill makes up for that handicap. Prowling Dragon, Strike gives 5,000 power and plus one critical to the unit that rides above it. He rode Prowling Dragon, Striken on every second turn. He won game two because of this card and getting two triggers(stand and critical) from the twin drive. However, I won the overall match 2-1.

I must admit that my Nova Grapplers deck is poorly structured. The deck consists of cards that I've pulled from many booster packs. It has many different sub types in the deck. It also lacks two or three more grade 3 units. Most importantly I only have one copy of Beast Deity, Azure Dragon and Asura Kaiser. I'm unable to activate Beast Deity, Azure Dragon's skill. Here is the deck list!

Starter

Battleraizer

Unit of The Week: Apocalypse Bat

An unheard scream sends the unseen demon into a frenzy.

[AUTO](RC):[Soul Blast (1)] When this unit boosts a card with "Blaster" in its card name, you may pay the cost. If you do, the boosted unit gets [Power]+6000 until end of that battle.

Apocalypse Bat is a powerful staple card in Blaster Shadow Paladin decks. Apocalypse Bat is one of the best boosting units in the game with a cheap cost. Phantom Blaster Dragon's skill with Apocalypse Bat's boost and skill will  give Phantom Blaster Dragon 31,000 power and 2 critical. Phantom Blaster Overlord's skill with Apocalypse Bat's skill will give Phantom Blaster Overload 33,000 power and 2 critical. Your opponent  will have to use a perfect guard or be forced to use a lot of shield from the hand to stop these high powered attacks

Apocalypse Bat is also an interesting unit to boost Majesty Lord Blaster. Majesty Lord Blaster's power will gain another 10,000 power when his attack skill is activated. This will trigger Majesty Lord Blaster's passive skill that gives him an additional 2,000 power and plus one critical when Blaster Dark and Blaster Blade are in the soul. Apocalypse Bat's skill will give Majesty Lord Blaster another 10,000 power(soul blast any card except Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark). Majesty Lord Blaster's attack will be 32,000 power for that turn. Afterwards Apocalypse Bat's skill will boost Majesty Lord Blaster to a 22,000 power with plus two critical unit.

3 Things Yu-Gi-Oh! Can Learn From Cardfight!! Vanguard

Yu-Gi-Oh! has been widely criticized in recent years. In many players feel that the game has many problems. These problems have caused some players to move on to new games such as Cardfight!! Vanguard. Let's take a look at three issues that Yu-Gi-Oh! can learn from Cardfight!! Vanguard.

1. Rarity Ratio

Rarity ratio is a huge problem in Yu-Gi-Oh! It has made the game so much more expensive. A card game should not get so expensive that it costs over $300 to make a good deck. That's ridiculous.

Cardfight!! Vanguard isn't the cheapest game in the world. However, the rarity ratio in booster packs is very good. It is so good that you have a fair chance of pulling useful cards or good trade bait.

A typical Yu-Gi-Oh! booster set comes with one or two secret rare cards. In Cardfight!! Vanguard there is a SP in 1 out of 480 packs. This may sound terrible at first. However, almost every SP card has a RRR rarity version. RRR rarity cards are 1 out of every 10 booster packs. This makes the game more playable for players. Cardfight!! Vanguard players have much better odds of pulling a powerful RRR King of Knights, Alfred then Yu-Gi-Oh! players pulling a High Priestess of The Prophecy.

Another problem are Konami's rarity bumps. This makes the game very expensive for Western players. For example High Priestess of The Prophecy is a super are in Japan. However, in America High Priestess of The Prophecy is a secret rare. That's a huge rarity bump. To my knowledge there are not any rarity bumps in Cardfight!! Vanguard. Bushiroad has not changed any rarities in Western booster packs and trail decks.

2. Balanced Cards

Cardfight!! Vanguard is famous for being a very balance game. Each card and clan are balanced. There is no superior clan to play. However, there are easier clans to master such as Gold Paladins and Royal Paladins. Every clan has a fair chance to win games and tournaments.

However, this is much different in Yu-Gi-Oh. Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of the most unbalanced games I have ever played. Every format has a dominated arch-type because Konami creates unbalanced arch-types and cards only for profit. Konami greatly influences players to play unbalanced(broken) decks that are expensive. Konami does this by creating the most broken cards in the game such as Spellbook Judgement Day. Konami doesn't care about the game's health and quality. A balance game can still generate profit. Cardfight!! Vanguard has proven that over the past year. An example would be the Wind-Ups. Players have been calling for the Wind-Ups to be banned for awhile now. Konami finally responded by banning Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity and limiting Wind-Up Magician. However, Wind-Ups are still just as dangerous as ever.  Wind-Ups has already dominated a YCS this year.

3. No One Turn Kills

Card games are made to be fun! OTK's(One Turn Kill) are not fun at all. They take away the enjoyable of having a good match. OTK's(One Turn Kill) are terrible on the receiving end. Losing to an OTK is common in Yu-Gi-Oh. However, OTK's are impossible in Cardfight!! Vanguard. Cardfight!! Vanguard gives both players a fair chance to win the game.

Unit of The Week: Dragonic Overlord

Burn, flame of despair! Eternal Flame!

Unit of The Week is brought to you today by Toshiki Kai! Dragonic Overlord is a great card for any Kagero build. Many Kagero decks focuses on Dragonic Overlord and Dragonic Overlord The End!

Its skill is very amazing. Dragonic Overlord gains 5000 power and can stand when his attack hits an opponent's rear-guard unit. Dragonic Overlord does loses twin drive. However, his skill basically forces your opponent to guard or face a deadly wave of attacks during the turn. Dragonic Overlord as the potential of attacking three times in the turn. He would destroy the two front rear-guard units. Finally he would attack the vanguard. During these attacks the player would gain 3 cards because of the drive trigger check. Now the player could possibly have a major hand advantage.

Unit of The Week:The Dark Dictator

My sword shall guide you into the dark abyss…

Sorry for missing last week's Unit of The Week! I was so busy on campus that I forgot post it!

The King of Knights, Alfred's Shadow Paladin double is The Dark Dictator! His first skill is very unique As the Vanguard The Dark Dictator gains 2,000 power for every rear guard Shadow Paladin! Unlike most Shadow Paladin units The Dark Dictator benefits from having additional units around him instead of killing off his allies. His second skill is also really good. His soul blast will add 5,000 power to two rear guard units. This skill is really good when pushing for game!

Popular Yugi Tuber AznEyesWhiteDragon uploaded the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! April Fools prank! This is the Advantage Special box! It includes a High Priestess of Prophecy. He joked about a High Priestess of Prophecy remake. I knew this was too good to be true! Boy do I wish it was true!
