Unit of The Week: Ambitious Spirit Revenger, Cormack

That which swirls up is ambition, the last resort to defeat the endless enemies.
[ACT](VC): Legion 20000 "Fighting Spirit Revenger, Macart" (If your opponent's vanguard is grade 3 or greater, this unit may return four cards from your drop zone into your deck once, search your deck for the specified card, and Legion)
[AUTO](VC):[Choose one of your rear-guards, and retire it] When this unit attacks a vanguard, if this unit is Legion, you may pay the cost. If you do, this unit gets [Critical]+1 until end of that battle.
[AUTO](VC):When this unit attacks a vanguard, if you have another unit in your middle column, this unit gets [Power]+3000 until end of that battle.
Blaster Dark has recruited new soldiers to join his Revengers. One of his new comrades is a warrior from an alternate timeline, Ambitious Spirit Revenger, Cormack. He serves as a generic Legion unit to be used by modern and retro cards from the Shadow Paladins. His mate is the Fighting Spirit Revenger, Macart. Together they will lead their unit of Shadow Paladins to serve justice in the shadows.

Ambitious Spirit Revenger, Cormack is a far superior version of Phantom Blaster Overlord. He gains exactly the same stats from his skills at a much cheaper cost. His Legion skill retires one rear-guard to give an additional critical to Cormack. His Legion attack will be 23K power and two criticals before being boosted and applying effects from triggers. The early pressure will slowly break your opponent's defenses with each Legion attack until your opponent is unable to defend the vanguard.

However, his skills alone are not enough to tip games in his favor. He clearly needs extra help from his supporting case of rear-guards. This doesn't make him a bad card for needing good rear-guards. He is just a nice piece in a collection of cards for his deck to compete at a high level. Cormack's best feature is his skills do not cost any counter blasts to active them so your rear-guards will make good use of your counter blasts. Revenger, Dark Bond Trumpeter, Fighting Spirit Revenger, Macart, Skull Witch, Nemain, Blaster Dark Spirit, and Illusionary Revenger, Mordred Phantom are a great lineup to support Cormack. Dark Bond Trumpeter, Macart, and Nemain gather resources to gain advantage on the field or in the hand while Blaster Dark Spirit retires the opposition. Illusionary Revenger, Mordred Phantom can be a backup grade 3 just in case Cormack is not in your hand, and you will be able to set up a Break Ride for the play of the game!

Given these points, Ambitious Spirit Revenger, Cormack is the center piece in new generic Shadow Paladin decks with Legion! His Legion skill is pretty decent on its own because of his high attack power when Legion is active. However, Cormack is like a quarterback who best shines in a particular system with the right supporting cast. With the right supporting units, Cormack can become a force to be reckoned with. Ambitious Spirit Revenger, Cormack will lead his soldiers to victory in the name of the Shadow Paladins!
