Unit of The Week: Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo"

Shadow Paladins continue to stride to greater heights. Blaster Dark Diablo has unlocked the legendary Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo". Blaster Dark is the legendary knight, who fought alongside Blaster Blade in the war against Link Joker and the Void. Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo" is a legendary dragon with an enormous amount of power. Enemies lose all hope of victory after they witness the power of Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo"! Shadow Paladins make the ultimate sacrifice by giving your powers to Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo" to save Cray!

Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo" Generation Break 3 skill stands Spectral Blaster Diablo for a second attack and superior calls one grade 1 card from your deck. However,  Spectral Blaster Diablo's will lose triple drive for the second attack, but the newly superior called unit make up for losing a check. You must have Blaster Dark Diablo as your vanguard's heart to activate the second part of skill. The new grade one unit can boost Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo". The skill looks very costly. However, there are a few tricks to minimize the cost. You will be able to retain resources in your hand and on the field.

Furthermore, there are a few options to help pay for the skill's cost. Pitch Black Sage, Charon's skill counts Charon as two sacrificed units instead of one. Black Chain Flame Dance Formation, Hoel's Generation Break will counter charge one card and soul charge one card when you superior call Black Chain Spirit Dance Formation, Kahedin with Spectral Blaster Diablo's skill. Your vanguard will also gain 3,000 power.

Overall, Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo" is the best finisher for Blaster Dark Diablo decks. It is also playable in any Shadow Paladin deck, but only a Diablo deck will gain the benefit of superior calling a grade one unit. Play rear-guards that count as two sacrifices to save your resources. Never spend too many resources for a single skill because it may cost you the match. Balance your resources and use them at the right moment to stride into Diablo! Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo" fights beside Blaster Dark Diablo to help you grab victory!

Welcome to The Cell Games

Dr. Gero created powerful androids to get revenge against Goku. His ultimate weapon is the perfect warrior Cell. The mad scientist gathered DNA from the strongest fighters on Earth and was able to get DNA from Frieza and King Cold! However, Cell was only able to reach his full potential after absorbing Androids 17 and 18. Perfection was not enough to defeat the Z Fighters. Gohan unlocked his hidden powers to become the most powerful warrior on the Earth at the Cell Games. Cell was defeated by the Son of Goku.

Cell is an unique Main Personality. Cell is able to use every style in the game. He processes of genes from many races. Cell has access to a large amount of the name cards. He can use cards with Frieza's Gohan's, Goku's, Piccolo's, Trunks's and Vegeta's names. You have a lot of options on how you want to build a deck with Cell! Test different decks to find the right deck for you!

Cell is currently the strongest Main Personality in the game. He is designed to win by Life Deck victory. His level 4's power level is 2,500,000! His power level completely destroys the current power scale. His physical attacks would knockout many weak characters with low power levels. His high power level makes him the perfect character in a Saiyan Style deck. He will have many hard hitting physical attacks to deal major damage. Damage from Saiyan Clothesline will double because Cell will have a higher power level than his opponent. He will quickly build his anger to reach his ultimate level in just a few turns.

Cell Imperfect
(This attack is considered Styled)
Power: Energy Attack
Destroy the top card of your Life Deck.
Damage: AT +3 stages.
HIT: If the top card of your discard pile is Styled, gain 3 stages.
Cell Imperfect's ability is an Energy Attack that is also Styled. He lowers your opponent's stages while he gains stages. A deck with mostly Styled cards will benefit from this ability. You will quickly gain power stages to reach higher levels than your opponent.

Cell Semi-Perfect
Your opponent's non-Styled attacks cost +1 stage to perform.
Power: Use when entering combat. Banish a card from your hand to search your Life Deck for a Styled card and place it into your hand.
Cell's power level reaches 1,400,000 million at his second level. His power level is far greater than every level two in the game. His first ability punishes your opponent for playing a non-Styled attack. The opposing Main Personality must pay an additional stage to perform the attack. At the start of combat, you may banish a card from your hand and draw a Styled card from your deck. You are exchanging one card for a better Styled card. Grab a defensive card if you are lacking defense or grab a powerful offensive card to dominate your opponent.

Cell Perfect
(You cannot win by MPPV if you advance a level with this card's effect)
Power: Physical Attack
Damage from this attack cannot be prevented. At the end of combat, you may banish 5 cards from your opponent's discard pile. If you do advance your MP 1 level.
Damage: 7 life cards.
Cell Perfect is the definition of perfection. He can perform a physical attack and deal 7 life cards of damage. His ability also negates Endurance. You may also advance him to the next level, but you will not be allowed to win by MPPV. Don't worry about being unable to win my MPPV. You opponent will also not be able to win my MPPV with Cell Unstoppable's power! You will gain a major advantage with your combo with level 3 and level 4! This ability also makes It's Over 9,000 a great card. You can transition from level 2 to 4 in a single turn. Your opponent will also gain a level, but you can reverse if with Cell Unstoppable's ability.

Cell Unstoppable
Power: Use when entering combat. Search your Life Deck for a Styled card and place it into your hand.
Power: You may lower your MP 1 level to lower your opponent's MP 1 level.
Cell has reached a level beyond perfection with a power level over 2 million! Cell Unstoppable is the perfect card to counter MPPV decks. You have complete control over your opponent's levels. You can continue the level 3 and level 4 combo to force your opponent to level one. Captain Ginyu has finally met his match! The Ginyu Force will lose advantages from Ginyu's best skills when he is forced to level down to his weaker levels. Namekian Piccolo stands the best chance against Cell. All of Piccolo's levels have strong skills with his deck. He can easily win with all seven Dragon Balls on his side of the field.

The Final Word

Cell is going to be a major player in the Dragon Ball Z Trading Card Game's long run. He is an unstoppable forced of nature! He is the ultimate beat down deck with plenty of control on the board. His level three card and level four card make him a threat to any deck. Cell's strategy is to control your opponent's power levels and maintain his advantage as the strongest character on the field. Strong physical can do major damage to your opponent as Cell shatters the power scale. Your opponent is often losing power stages and may also lose a level. Your opponent will be forced to abandon his or her strategy to win by MPPV. Piccolo and Captain Ginyu will be sharing room with Cell as the best three decks in the game.

Unit of The Week: Blue Storm Marine General, Michael

The fourth time the wind blows, the wind becomes a blue storm. 
[ACT](VC):Legion20000 "Blue Storm Marine General, Milos" (If your opponent's vanguard is grade 3 or greater, this unit may return four cards from your drop zone into your deck once, search your deck for the specified card, and Legion)
[AUTO](VC):[Choose a card with the same name as a unit on your (VC) from your hand, and discard it] At the end of the battle that this unit attacked a vanguard, if this unit is Legion, and if it is the fourth battle of that turn or more, you may pay the cost. If you do, exchange all of your rear-guards in any positions, choose up to two of your rear-guards, and [Stand] them.
[AUTO](VC):When this unit attacks a vanguard, if it is the fourth battle of that turn or more, this unit gets [Power]+5000 until end of that battle.
Blue Storm Marine General, Michael is another general in the Aqua Force's naval forces. He has new state of the art weapons. He was led by the legendary Maelstrom in the Blue Storm Armada. He shows no mercy to his weak enemies. He is the third Aqua Force unit to have the Legion ability. His abilities work well with Tetra Burst and Zeharias.

Legion Skill is a persona blast and it stands two of your rear-guards for two more attacks. You may also rearrange your formation in any positions. This ability gives you two additional attacks for the turn! You should be able to get at least six attacks in a single turn. His second skill gives him an additional 5,000 power when he attacks in the fourth battle of the turn. This ability works with the first skill as it also activates during the fourth battle.

Play Milos, Tidal Assault or Magnum Assault to set up your fourth attack for Michael. Blue Storm Marine General, Milos is the Michael's Legion Mate and he has the same skill as Tidal Assault. The only exception is Milos's skill requires your vanguard to be in Legion to activate his ability. You can pressure your opponent early in the game before Legion with Tidal Assault. Then Michael will gain the 5,000 power boost from his second skill.

Blue Storm Marine General, Ianis is a great card to play with Michael. You may draw a card when his attack hits a vanguard. He is the deck's game changer. Aqua Force's weakness is it small hand size. Ianis's skill does not require your vanguard to be in Legion. His skill activates in the third or more battle of the turn. He gives you two opportunities two draw cards if his attacks hit the opposing vanguard.

Overall, Blue Storm Marine General, Michael is a great card to play Aqua Force in a Legion deck. Players have a few options to choose from for an Aqua Force deck with Legion. His support case features an all-star lineup of Aqua Force's best soldiers. Ianis and Milos become very useful in Legion decks as their skills are used to their fullest potential. Fear Blue Storm Marine General, Michael's dark wrath!

Structure Deck Review: Masters of Pendulum

Last month I bought Masters of Pendulum to check out the awesome and new cards in the structure deck. Masters of Pendulum's themes are focusing on every type of summon from the Extra Deck, and feature Odd-Eyes Dragon as the main archetype. The structure deck includes Fusion monsters, Synchro monsters, and XYZ monsters. The structure deck includes 43 cards. Two cards are ultra rare cards and three cards are super rare cards. You can find Master of Pendulum at your local retail stores and hobby shops.

New Monsters in the Extra Deck

Two of the new monsters in the Extra Deck are new forms of Odd-Eyes Dragon. Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon is a rank seven XYZ monster with 2800 attack points and 2500 defense points. Absolute Dragon is able to negate any monster's attack and special summon an Odd-Eyes monster from your hand or graveyard! The first skill is simply amazing. You can special summon any of your fallen Odd-Eyes monsters from the graveyard. The second skill special summons an Odd-Eyes monster from your Extra Deck except for Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon when Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon is sent to the graveyard. You are able to special summon Odd-Eyes Meteor Burst Dragon from your Extra Deck. You can maintain a strong presence on the board.

Odd-Eyes Meteor Burst Dragon is a cool Synchro Monster.  Meteor Burst Dragon's ability to special summon a card from your Pendulum Zone to your Monster Zone. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon can easily be special summon from your Extra Deck. Then you can use your two Odd-Eyes Dragons to XYZ summon Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon! Use you Odd-Eyes Dragons to special summon each other to overwhelm your opponent with their amazing effects!

Magician Pendulums!

Magicians get five new monster cards and three of them are super rare cards! Nobledragon Magician, Oafdragon Magician, and Wisdom-Eye Magician are the super rare cards. Each Magician has a special effect to give your Odd-Eyes Dragons an advantage. Wisdom-Eye Magician is so good that he is limited to one copy per deck in Japan. Wisdom-Eye Magician's Pendulum Effect destroys Wisdom-Eye Magician if you have another Magician or Performapal in a Pendulum Zone and you place one Magician Pendulum Monster from your deck to the Pendulum Zone. Its Monster Skill discards this card and you can return a Pendulum Monster's scale to its original number.


As always I need to take a look at the structure deck's best reprints. There are a few notable reprints. Mystical Space Typhoon, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, and Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon are the three best reprints in the deck. Most new structure decks include one copy of Mystical Space Typhoon. It is one of the best cards in the game's long history. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon is arguably the best reprint in the deck. It fits in the deck's theme on Odd-Eyes Dragon. Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon is the deck's fusion monster to complete the Extra Deck with every type of monster in it.

The Final Word

I highly recommend Masters of Pendulum to new and experienced players. New players can learn how to activate nearly every summon in the game. The structure deck includes a few key reprints to help every player build their perfect deck. There are more than enough cards to make an Odd-Eyes deck. It is also great for collectors because it has five foiled cards. Buy three Masters of Pendulum structure decks and you will have a nice Odd-Eyes Dragon deck. You have all of the key Odd-Eyes monsters to make a consistent deck with the new Magician Pendulums.

Unit of The Week: Conquering Supreme Dragon Dragonic Vanquisher "VOLTAGE"

Conquering Supreme Dragon Dragonic Vanquisher "VOLTAGE" is one of the RRR cards that I pulled last Saturday. It is a G-Unit for Narukumi and it has 15K power. He is based on Dragon Dragonic Vanquisher. Voltage is clearly intended to upgrade Vanquisher's deck from the early G series booster sets. Voltage's skills are a combination of Dragonic Vanquisher's and Lightning Dragon Knight, Zorras's skills.

Conquering Supreme Dragon Dragonic Vanquisher "VOLTAGE"'s skill retires an opposing rear-guard and binds two of your opponent's cards in the drop zone to the bind zone. Voltage's attack pressures your opponent because the skill requires your attack to be a success. The skill automatically activates after your attack hits. You can destroy your opponent's resources on the field and in the drop zone. Voltage's skill is unique in its ability to remove cards from two key areas. Stride on top of Dragonic Vanquisher use his skill to rear-guard and bind an additional front row rear-guard.

Furthermore, this ability counters Legion. Your opponent will not be able to easily recycle resources back into the deck. You can easily bind your opponent's Legion Mates and triggers in the drop zone to the bind zone. You can slow down a Legion deck by preventing an early Legion. Your opponent loses access to his or her mates. It can prevent him or her from preforming multiple Legions in a single game.

Finally, the first part of the skill is connected to the Generation Break. Nobody wants Voltage's attack to hit or they will face the consequences. It enables Voltage's Generation Break's requirements. Voltage's Generation Break 3 gives 3,000 for each card in your opponent's bind zone to all of your units in the front row. Your front row's huge boost in power can overwhelm your opponent. If you are able to successfully hit two attacks with Voltage, then you can give 12K power or 18K power with Dragonic Vanquisher to your front row rear-guards.

Overall, Conquering Supreme Dragon Dragonic Vanquisher "VOLTAGE" is an awesome G-Unit with a strong skill. He is the best G-Unit to play with Dragonic Vanquisher. His ability removes resources from multiple areas on the board. Your rear-guards in the front row benefit from the power boost from the Generation Break. You gather a large amount of power to dominate your opponent late in games. Conquer your opponents with Conquering Supreme Dragon Dragonic Vanquisher "VOLTAGE"!

Locals Report: January 2016

I have been to my local card shop a few times this year. I am only able to go there on Saturdays because of my busy work schedule.  Not a lot has changed at my locals. The player base remains the same for every game at the shop. We do not have tournaments for Cardfight!! Vanguard and Yu-Gi-Oh! at the moment. Yu-Gi-Oh! players do not consistently hang out at the shop. There are not enough Vanguard players to host a tournament.

The State of Vanguard at Locals

My local shop has a weak vanguard community. My friend and me normally are the only players at the shop. However, one of my buddies' friends came to the shop to play vanguard. He has numerous decks. He used his Gear Chronicle deck and Nova Grappler deck against my Seekers deck and Chronojet Dragon deck. My Seekers dominated his Gear Chronicle units. His Nova Grapplers got the best of my Chronojet Dragon deck. I only recorded our first game between my Seekers deck and his Gear Chronicle deck. Watch the game in the video above this paragraph!

Cardfight!! Vanguard has little life in my town. It is odd to see the product being sold, but the players are not around at hobby stores in town. There is still hope of building a strong community. Playing Vanguard catches people's attention. Random people at locals will briefly watch games and ask questions about Cardfight!! Vanguard. A guy asked questions about Gear Chronicle so he is clearly interested in the clan. I have taught a few people how to play vanguard, but I have never seen them at the shop again.

My First Booster Boxes 

I bought my first 30 pack booster box of Cardfight!! Vanguard. My friend purchased a Sovereign Star Dragon booster box and I bought a Moonlit Dragonfang booster box. We divided booster boxes with each other so we both had 15 booster packs from each box. I have purchased extra booster boxes and uploaded a few videos on YouTube. My most notable cards from the booster boxes are Conquering Supreme Dragon Dragonic Vanquisher "VOLTAGE", Dragon Destroyer Battle Deity Kamussusanoo, Darkside Princess, and Scharhrot Vampir.

What is UFS?

I have invested money and time into UFS. I recently purchased the MegaMan starter deck and Dr. Wily's starter deck. Most people at my local shop have heard of UFS. I am the only player at the shop. There is little to no chance of a community growing anything soon in town. However, a friend and me will start learning how to play UFS. We will record games at locals. Maybe people will notice us playing the game and try to join in on the fun.

Magic Continues Its Dominance Town

Magic the Gathering is still by far the most popular game in my city. There is not a single hobby shop in town without any Magic the Gathering products. A tournament is held every month. Almost every person at my locals plays in at least one format of Magic the Gathering. Magic players began to arrive in the afternoon to get ready for their tournament. I have purchased a few decks, but have not devoted any time to get into the game. Maybe one day I will venture further into Magic. I have more than enough cards to build a White deck for any format.

The Final Word

My locals strive on Magic the Gathering while other games take a backseat. I do not expect Cardfight!! Vanguard to break out in my area anytime soon. Hopefully the game will eventually start to grow at my locals. On the bright side, there are at least two people, who also play Cardfight!! Vanguard at my shop. That is better than nothing.
