Starter Deck Review: Yugi Evolution

I took a look in the past with Yugi Evolution. It was released alongside Starter Deck Kaiba Evolution in 2004. It was one of the decks that I purchased during my teenage years. I was very excited for this deck. The starter deck was the first official release of Black Luster Soldier. Yugi Evolution was the second starter deck based on Yugi's deck. The ultra rare card is the original Black Luster Soldier. This would not be a starter deck for Yugi without the Dark Magician! Dark Magician and Black Luster Ritual are the starter deck's two super rare cards.

The Original Black Luster Soldier

Blaster Lust Soldier is a level eight Ritual Monster. He requires Black Luster Ritual and any amount of monsters with a total level of 8 or more to be used as tributes from your field or hand. I wanted Black Luster Soldier in my deck after I saw Yugi summon him in his duel against Mai Valentine. He can be useful in the new Black Luster Soldier decks. I have seen a few deck profiles for the new Black Luster Soldier cards with the original Black Luster Soldier in the decks.

Classic Cards

The majority of these cards are not very good. You will not see them in today's competitive decks. Beaver Warrior and Celtic Guardian are two of Yugi's weakest monsters, but they were fun to watching the anime. I particularly like Celtic Guardian's artwork. He reminds me of Link of The Legend of Zelda series. He is an elf like Link and also wears a green tunic.

Pot of Greed and Monster Reborn were two of the best cards. Pot of Greed helped players set up their field. Players were able to draw two additional cards in a single turn. They were able to quickly draw their best cards. Monster Reborn gave players access to both player's graveyards and can revive almost any monster from the graveyard for free. Both cards are now on the ban list. It does not appear either card will be released from the forbidden list soon. There is the possibility of Konami editing the cards' original texts and legalizing the cards in the advance format.

Dark Magician and Mystical Space Typhoon are the only active cards in today's game. Most decks have at least one copy of Mystical Space Typhoon. It is one of the best Spell and Trap card removals in the game. I always have at least two copies in every deck. Dark Magician is getting new support in the upcoming movie. Yugi's ace monster will continue to get support over time. The series's main protagonist's cards will always get new support.

The Final Word

Overall, Yugi Evolution was a cool deck during its day. I strongly recommend Yugi Evolution to collectors and veterans. You will want to add this deck to your collection. Yugi Evolution is a memorable deck from the original series. Black Luster Soldier and Dark Magician are the only monster cards in modern decks. Both classic cards received new cards last year and this year. The most commonly played card from the deck is Mystical Space Typhoon. It's time to duel!

Unit of The Week: Flower Princess of Perpetual Summer, Verano

The bud burst by the grace of the sun. So, she is the flower princess of perpetual summer.
[Stride]-Stride Step-[Choose one or more cards with the sum of their grades being 3 or greater from your hand, and discard them] Stride this card on your (VC) from face down.
[AUTO]:[Soul Blast (1) & Choose a face down card from your G zone, and turn it face up & Choose a card from your hand and drop zone, and return them to your deck] When this unit is placed on (VC), you may pay the cost. If you do, choose up to two cards from your hand, call them to separate (RC). Choose the same number of your rear-guards as the number of face up cards named "Flower Princess of Perpetual Summer, Verano" in your G zone, search your deck for up to one card with the same card name as each of those units, call them to separate (RC), shuffle your deck, and the units called from your deck with this effect get "Boost" until end of turn.
Flower Princess of Perpetual Summer, Verano is New Nectar's latest Generation Rare G-unit. She made her anime debut last week in episode 23 of Cardfight!! Vanguard G Girs Crisis. She demonstrated Neo Nectar's new ability Bloom and led Team TRY3 to victory! She has beautiful art. Summer is the proper word in her name because she is hot! I cannot ask for anything more from the artist. He or she did a great job at showing nature at its best.

Flower Princess of Perpetual Summer, Verano's skill calls two cards from your hand and you can superior call copies from you deck up to the number of face up Verano cards in your G zone. Your formation will be almost complete. Your newly superior called units can boost your units in the front row! Grade 2 and grade 3 units can boost your attackers! Each column should attack with numbers beyond 20,000 attack power.

Furthermore, Verano's skill greatly enhances New Nectar's new ability Bloom. Superior calling multiple copies of the same unit with Bloom will highly increase their power. Some columns can reach over 50,000 power in a blink of an eye. These overwhelming numbers will eventually break through an opponent's defense. He or she will not be able to handle waves of unusually high powered attacks. Greenshot Elf is currently the only grade 2 unit with Bloom. Superior call two copies of Greenshot Elf to give a huge power boost to each Elf. Place one Elf behind Verano to give your vanguard a big boost!

Finally, every Neo Nectar deck can make full use of Flower Princess of Perpetual Summer, Verano. Her ability is not limited to a particular archetype. Ahsha and Musketeers decks will become a lot better. I want to put her in my new Ahsha deck. I bought the Flower Maiden of Purity just to play Verano and Ansha together.

Overall, Flower Princess of Perpetual Summer, Verano is one of the most amazing cards in terms of art and skill. Her beauty will memorize you and her skill will wrap your opponents in a dangerous ivy. Expect Verano is a staple in every Neo Nectar deck. She will put Neo Nectars on the map. She is exactly the card that Neo Nectar needed to reach the next level in the meta. Her ability to create strong columns shatters opponent's defenses.

Legend Deck Review:The Dark Ren Suzugamori

Bushiroad released the first Legend Deck in 2015. Legend Decks are revamped decks from the original series characters Aichi, Kai, and Ren. Legend Deck The Dark Ren Suzugamori features new versions of Ren's signature cards. Classic units from Ren's Shadow Paladin decks make their return in Cardfight!! Vanguard G. Blaster Dark and Phantom Blaster Dragon return with new abilities and higher grades.

The deck includes one deck box, 54 cards with a foil of each card, and 1 promo card is included in the deck. Unfortunately, the English version did not get the new sleeves with Ren on them and the Ren deck box. I do not understand why Bushiroad was unable to prove the sleeves and storage box to the English players. It is a minor letdown to not receive the total package from Japan.

Blaster Dark Returns

Blaster Dark has finally become a grade 3 vanguard. His new form is named Blaster Dark Diablo. His new artwork fits his character. The artwork represents his cold heart and growth as a warrior. He is a generic card and can be played in any Shadow Paladin deck. His Generation Break allows you to discard any card in your hand to pay for Stride. The bonus Stride skill retires a rear-guard. This ability is a clone of the original Blaster Dark's skill.

Shadows of Stride Generation

The extra deck contains five cards. You get two G-units in The Dark Suzugamori. The extra deck only needs three more cards to be complete. You are well on your way of having a complete deck with Stride Generation! Dark Dragon, Phantom Blaster "Diablo" is the new version of Phantom Blaster Dragon. You get a complete set of  Dark Dragon, Phantom Blaster "Diablo". Its Stride skill is based on the original Phantom Blaster Dragon's skill. Dark Knight, Grim Recruiter is a triple rare promo card. He is a generic G-unit as you can play him in any Shadow Paladin deck. His skill superior calls a grade one card from your deck.

New Foil Cards

Macha and Mac Lir also make comebacks as stronger cards. Mac Lir Originally was a perfect guard, and has changed into an especial interceptor.  Dorint and Claudas are the best duo in the deck. They create a 20K column when Generation Break is online. Every card has one foiled copy. The remaining cards are common cards. You can build a deck with only foiled cards by buying four copies of the Legend Deck or individual cards.

The Final Word

I highly recommend players to buy Legend The Dark Ren Suzugamori especially if Shadow Paladins are your favorite clan. This Legend Deck is packed with amazing new cards. The deck is complete with a full set of cards. Switch cards in your deck to test different strategies. Your extra deck has three open slots to complete your extra deck. I can overlook Bushiroad for not giving the storage box and sleeves to the English players. Ride your Shadow Paladins to victory!

Unit of The Week: Dragonic Overlord "The Legend"

This is the immortal apocalypse! Eternal Blaze!
[ACT](VC)[1/Turn] Generation Break 2:[Counter Blast (1) & Choose a grade 3 or greater from your hand, and discard it] Until end of turn, this unit gets [Power]+15000/grade+1/drive+1, and "[AUTO](VC)[1/Turn]:[Choose three cards from your hand, and discard them] At the end of the battle that this unit attacked a rear-guard, you may pay the cost. If you do, [Stand] this unit.".
[AUTO]:[Counter Blast (1) & Soul Blast (1)] When this unit is placed on (VC), you may pay the cost. If you do, look at five cards from the top of your deck, search for up to one from among them, reveal it to your opponent, put it into your hand, and shuffle your deck.
Dragonic Overlord has reached a new evolution! He continues to evolve into more powerful forms.  Dragonic Overlord "The Legend" is his latest form. Kagero's leader now has the power of Generation Break! We have not seen Kai play him in the anime, but that may change soon. Team Try3 takes on Team Q4. Their epic battle starts in Cardfight!! Vanguard Gear Crisis episode 23. I cannot wait to see Dragonic Overlord "The Legend" in action!

Dragonic Overlord "The Legend" has a strong Generation Break. His Generation Break transitions him to a grade 4 with the power of a G-unit. His power becomes 26,000 and an additional drive check. He can also attack twice per turn with two triple drives! Your first drive gives your access to triggers to enhance his power for his second attack for your opponent's vanguard.

Second skill activates when you ride Dragonic Overlord "The Legend". The skill allows you to look at the top five cards of your deck and you draw one card among the five cards. There are a lot of options based on your hand's status. You can draw a perfect guard to boaster your defense. You can also draw a grade three card to enable your first Stride. However, you must reveal the card to your opponent. He or she will know if you have a perfect guard, but it won't matter if you draw a card to enable Stride.

Finally, there is not a right choice in choosing your second version of Dragonic Overlord for your secondary vanguard. You have a lot of options to test with different variations of the deck. Perdition Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord the Great has the most potential to be a force with Dragonic Overlord "The Legend". It has the same ability to stand up for another attack. You will have access to a Dragonic Overlord with an ability to search for triggers and attack twice in combat. Legion will recycle your triggers back into your deck. You will increase your chances of checking a trigger during The Legend's two triple drives.

Overall, Dragonic Overlord "The Legend" represents the legacy of Dragonic Overlord. His abilities are based on his previous forms' skills. Dragonic Overlord's fans will be excited to see their favorite card take over the game's state once again. I am going to preorder my copy of Legend Deck Kai to start playing Dragonic Overlord "The Legend".  Dragonic Overlord will never end as he continues to live on as a legend.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Needs Special Sets For Reprints

Cardfight!! Vanguard has been an active trading card game for five years. Many booster sets and decks have been released in the game's short history. Most cards have only been printed once in their initial sets. This has led to players becoming frustrated with Bushiroad's handling of reprints. Players have heavily criticized Bushiroad for rarely reprinting the game's best cards and most popular cards. Many decks rely on particular cards to function. If you want to play a deck with an archetype, then you need the key cards in the deck. Every English booster set includes new cards and only a few booster sets have a handful of reprints. We have not had a special set in English with reprinted cards.

Bushiroad is releasing new support for classic decks from the original series. However, Bushiroad has only reprinted a few key cards. Many decks need reprints to give easier access to new players. Older booster sets are hard to find in stores and can be very expensive online. Demon World Marquis, Amon has many new support cards in recent years. However, he has not had a proper reprint for players to play an Amon deck. It is illogical to continue to support Amon without reprinting the deck's featured card. Reprinting Amon will benefit players to have access to him and Bushiroad will earn a quick buck.

Extremely Rare Cards

Some of the game's best cards are also the rarest cards to find in booster packs. Naturally these cards are some of the game's most expensive cards. Their value will only increase over time if we do not get any reprints. Take a look at ChronoDragon Nextage from the G series. ChronoDragon Nextage is only available as a generation rare card and special rare card. I was lucky to pull one from a booster pack and I just knew he was going to be in the booster pack. The card is valued over one hundred dollars so I must buy three more copies if I want to play ChronoDragon Nextage. The price is ridiculous and it is Bushiroad's fault for printing limited copies.

Hard To Find Reprints

Reprints are very rare for Cardfight!! Vanguard. Only a few of the most iconic cards such as Majesty Lord Blaster and Dragon Overlord the End have reprints. However, their reprints can be hard to get as they are special reprints in Fighter's Collection 2014 and only one reprint is in a booster box. That was not a proper reprint for either card as it was more difficult to pull one in their second set. Reprints should not be this difficult to obtain. Players should have a fair shot at obtaining any important reprint.

Bushiroad should take a page out of Konami's book for Yu-Gi-Oh! Konami is known for reprinting fans' favorite cards and players are always excited to get their hands on their favorite cards. Legendary Collections and Gold Series are huge hits with players. If you missed out on the first set, then Konami will make it convenient for you in the future. Konami is not perfect. There are several cards that I want in my decks and collection, but Konami has not reprinted those cards. However, Konami has put a conscious effort into giving players access to their deck's best cards.

Easy Solution

The solution for our lack of reprints is very simple. Bushiroad should consider making special sets with only reprints in foil. This actually occurred a few years ago. Bushiroad reprinted a few cards in the first Fighters Collection in Japan. The set was exclusive to the Japanese market. English players did not get the opportunity to buy this set in English. That was a major mistake because players were demanding for reprints of their favorite cards. Dragonic Overlord The End, Blaster Blade (original), and Demon World Marquis, Amon deserve proper reprints in a booster set.

The Final Word

Players have fairly criticized Bushiroad for not taking the opportunity to reprint cards in special sets. The problem continues as grow as the game ages and new content is released for classic decks. I am hoping Bushiroad will eventually start releasing special sets just for reprints. The demand for reprints will only increase as the game continues to grow. This should not be an issue, but unfortunately Bushiroad has not answered our request. Older cards will only become more difficult to obtain. Let's hope Bushiroad will start special sets just for reprints in the future. Bushiroad take a page out of Konami's playbook and give us reprints!

News: Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions Official US Trailer

Konami revealed the first trailer for Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions in English! It is the third movie in the longest running anime series with a trading card game. I am very excited to see the original characters back in action. They are the characters, who influenced many old players to play the game. The film features Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba as the main characters. Yugi and his friends return for a new adventure on the big screen. A new villain has emerged and poses a major threat to the world. We see Kaiba and Yugi in another classic duel! They are using new duel disk that look similar to the ones in Zexal. New incarnations of Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician collide in one more match. The story is based on the original manga instead of the original anime. Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions will be in American theaters in 2016!

Unit of The Week: Swordsman of Light, Ahmes

And so, his bravery becomes his sword.
[AUTO](RC):When this unit attacks, if you have a vanguard with "Alfred" in its card name, this unit gets [Power]+2000 until end of that battle.
[AUTO](RC):[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit's attack hits a vanguard, if you have a vanguard with "Alfred" in its card name, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to one card with "Blaster Blade" in its card name, call it to the (RC) with this unit, shuffle your deck, choose one of that unit's [AUTO], and until end of turn, its cost becomes [(0)] until the next time it is paid. (A (0) cost is paid by declaring that you are paying it)
We have seen many forms of Blaster Blade as a grade 2 and grade 3. Blaster Blade was once known as Swordsman of Light, Ahmes before he found the legendary sword. King Alfred trusts Blaster Blade the most among his troops. He later became the legendary warrior, who saved Cray from Link Joker and the Void. Ahmes is in  Alfred's archetype and Blaster Blade's archetype. You need to play both Alfred and Blaster Blade to use Ahmes to his fullest potential and unlock the legendary Blaster Blade!

Ahmes is Alfred's 11K attacker. He gains 2,000 if you have Alfred as your vanguard. He perfectly fits in decks with King of Knights, Alfred and Light Source Seeker, Alfred Exiv! It is a bit disappointing for him not being a 12K attacker, but this does slightly balance him. Boost him with Toypugal and his power will become 20,000!

Ahmes grows into his more mature form as Blaster Blade. When his attack hits a vanguard if you have Alfred as your vanguard, then a card with Blaster Blade in its name is superior called to replace Ahmes. He gives one more attack for the turn. Blaster Blade's skill cost becomes zero. Ahmes's ability makes it easier to play Blaster Blade as his skill's original cost is two. You can freely retire an opposing rear-guard.

Furthermore, you can also use Ahmes's skill to search for Blaster Blade Burst, Blaster Blade Seeker and Blaster Blade Spirit. Blaster Blade Spirit is the strongest grade 2 version of Blaster Blade and hit weaker grade 3 vanguards without a boost. Blaster Blade Spirit and Blaster Blade Seeker get the job done just like the original Blaster Blade by retiring an opposing rear-guard. There is not a benefit from superior calling Blaster Blade Burst. He would be fun to play.

Overall, Swordsman of Light, Ahmes is one of the most resourceful to play in an Alfred deck that uses a form of Blaster Blade. Being able to retire opposing rear-guards for free is a nice advantage. His skill searches for any Blaster Blade card such as Blaster Blade, Blaster Blade Seeker, and Blaster Blade Spirit! You can save your counter blasts for your strongest skills. Superior call my avatar! Blaster Blade!

Trial Deck Review: Awakening of The Interdimensional Dragon

Awakening of The Interdimensional Dragon is Gear Chronicle's first trial deck. I am a bit late on taking a look at the first trial deck from the G series. I reviewed Gear Chronicle's second trial deck before its first trial deck. Awakening of The Interdimensional Dragon is based on Chrono's deck in the first season. It includes four RRR cards and one of them is the legendary Chronojet Dragon! Spin the gears of time and fate to achieve your greatest victory!

The Worst G-unit in the G series Trail decks

Interdimensional Dragon, Mystery-flare Dragon is the deck's prime G-unit. Unfortunately, it is also the G-unit in the game. Its ability looks very cool in the anime because you skip your opponent's next turn. However, the skill requires you to reveal the deck's top four cards and each card must be a different grade. You have a very low probability of activating the skill. The other two introductory trial decks include better G-units. Shrouded Divine Knight, Gablade and Flower Princess of Spring, Arborea can be consistently played in any deck. They do not rely so heavily on luck to deal major damage to your opponent. Stay far away from this card if you want a competitive Gear Chronicle deck.

Generation Break!

Chronojet Dragon is Gear Chronicle's poster boy. His original artwork is featured in the trial deck. Chronojet Dragon's Generation Break breaks through your opponent's defenses and prevents opponents from playing perfect guards from their hands. Unfortunately, Chronojet Dragon is only available in two trial decks and Gear Chronicle's best cards focus on Chronojet Dragon. You need him to make a solid deck. You need to buy trial decks or individual copies if you want to play a Chronojet Dragon deck.

Time Attack!

One of Gear Chronicle's special abilities sends your opponent's rear-guards to the bottom of the deck. Those cards cannot be used to perform Legion. This ability counters many decks such as Legion and clans with poor abilities to superior call units. Steam Fighter Amber is the top grade two in the trial deck and he sends one opposing rear-guard to the bottom of the deck. His ability is a Generation Break 1 skill. You can activate the skill as you as you perform your first Stride. Use his ability and Chronojet Dragon's Stride skill to return up to two units to the bottom of your opponent's deck!

The Final Word

Overall, Awakening of The Interdimensional Dragon is a good trial deck with a few bumps in the road. It is a nice introduction to Gear Chronicle. The trial deck showcases the clan's signature ability. You must buy either this trial deck or Gear Chronicle's second trial deck if you want to play Gear Chronicle. The clan heavily relies on Chronojet Dragon as your heart and vanguard. Interdimensional Dragon, Mystery-flare Dragon's uselessness hurts the trial deck's value. It does not consistently benefit any Gear Chronicle deck. I want Bushiroad to expand Gear Chronicle beyond Chronojet Dragon. The clan needs more diverse decks to give players additional options for playing Gear Chronicle. I still recommend buying Awakening of The Interdenominational Dragon to get two copies of Chronojet Dragon and a full set of triggers.

Unit of The Week: Interdimensional Dragon, Epoch-maker Dragon

Close your eyes, and think of the future. Surely, that will become reality
[Stride] (Released when both players' vanguards are grade 3 or greater!)-Stride Step-[Choose one or more cards with the sum of their grades being 3 or greater from your hand, and discard them] Stride this card on your (VC) from face down.
[AUTO](VC):When this unit's attack hits a vanguard, you may choose one of your rear-guards, and bind it face up. If you do, search your deck for up to one grade 3 card, call it to (RC), shuffle your deck, and at the end of your turn, put the unit called with this effect on the bottom of your deck. If you put a card on the bottom of your deck this way, choose a card bound with this effect from your bind zone, and call it to (RC).
Gear Chronicle is famous for manipulating time and space. Interdimensional Dragon, Epoch-maker Dragon lives up to his clan's signature ability. He bends time and space to send his allies thought time so summon more powerful allies to the battlefield. His signature attack's name is Twin Sword! Chrono played Epoch-maker Dragon to win TRY3's first victory against Team Demise. Unfortunately, Chrono's team would lose the next two games against their rivals in season one.

Interdimensional Dragon, Epoch-maker Dragon's skill binds a rear-guard and superior calls one grade 3 card from your deck to a rear-guard circle. You will have a fourth attack for your turn. First attack your opponent with one of your rear-guards. Replace a resting rear-guard in the front row with your new grade 3 rear-guard. Superior call a unit that gains power from its own skill like Steam Knight, Ilku. You want your new rear-guard to be strong enough to hit a cross ride or an unit with a power bonus from a trigger.

Epoch-mark Dragon's ability is very similar to Time Leap. His ability is basically a predecessor of Time Leap. You can choose a grade 3 unit from your deck regardless of the bound card's grade. Bushiroad may have based Time Leap on this ability. However, it has restrictions than Epoch-maker Dragon's kill. Time Leap on the other hand only allows you to temporary switch your unit with a unit a one grade higher.

Finally, there is an awesome combo with Chrono Dran. Place Chrono Dran in your bind zone for Epoch-maker Dragon's skill. Then Chrono Dran's skill activates and sends him to the soul. Superior call Chronojet Dragon from your deck and he gives you an extra attack for your turn. If you have the wrong grade 3 card as your vanguard, then you can ride Chronojet Dragon on your next turn. He is ready in your hand to join the fight!

Interdimensional Dragon, Epoch-maker Dragon is the true predecessor of Time Leap. His ability provides multiple uses from getting an extra attack or putting Chronojet Dragon into your hand. Epoch-Maker Dragon is good addition in Time Leap decks. He gives you more diversity in your extra deck. Chronodragon Nexage is one the rarest and most expensive cards on the market. Epoch-Maker Dragon can fill the void if you cannot get access to Chronojet Dragon's evolution. Dash toward your future with Interdimensional Dragon, Epoch-maker Dragon!

King of Knights, Alfred and His Comrades

My first Cardfight!! Vanguard deck was a Royal Paladin deck with Knight of Knights, Alfred. I guess it was destiny that led me to Royal Paladins. I started playing Cardfight!! Vanguard and bought two copies of Blaster Blade's trial deck. Soon afterwards I pulled SP cards of Blaster Blade and King of Knights Alfred. The logical choice was to play Royal Paladins because I was getting the deck's best cards at the time. My deck has evolved over time as Alfred received better supporting units.

King of Knights Alfred was one of Aichi's signature grade 3 cards in season one of Cardfight!! Vanguard. Alfred is the king of the United Sanctuary. He has returned in many forms for the Liberators and Seekers. Bushiroad continued to create more generic and archetype support for the Royal Paladins' king. He finally received new support in Vanguard & Deletor. I have listed some of Alfred's best support since the very first booster set.

Grade Zero allies

Signpost Sage, Eluron

Alfred finally got an exclusive starter in Vanguard & Deletor. Put him into your soul to superior a grade 2 or less rear-guard not named Signpost Sage, Eluron to a rear-guard circle. You can make plays with Blaster Blade and Knight of Twin Sword.

Margal

Every Alfred deck needs Margal. He is a draw trigger so you gain the benefits when you check him. His skill is more important in an Alfred deck with Legion. Margal builds your soul to help the pay Ezel's skill's cost.

Grade One

Hidden Sage, Miron

Miron is a great addition in Alfred decks. She provides extra draw power. Her ability draws a card when she is superior called from your deck! Two to four copies of her will perfectly fit with Alfred.

Swordsman of Light, Blaster Rapier Laura

Swordsman of Light, Blaster Rapier Laura gives Alfred a permanent 1,000 power boost when she is behind him. Laura has resistance against your opponent's effects. Opponents cannot lock or retire her. She will always remain a strong force behind Alfred. She is also a good booster behind your rear-guards!

Toypugal

Toypugal is one of those cards that will always be useful for Royal Paladins. It becomes a 9K booster when you have two grade three units on the field. Alfred's and Ezzell's Legion fulfill Toypugal's requirements. Your rear-guards in the front row will benefit from Toypugal's powerful boost!

Grade Two Soldiers

Blaster Blade

Blaster Blade is one of the signature Royal Paladin cards. He fits in nearly every Royal Paladin deck. Alfred can use his services in his time of need. He can retire potential interceptors on your opponent's field.

Knight of Twin Sword

This young swordsman is a handy card to play if you are playing Stride with Alfred. His Generation Break superior calls another Royal Paladin to the field. You can replace a resting unit or fill in the second rear-guard circle in the front row.

Swordsman of Light, Blaster Axe Grawl

Blaster Blade is not the only Blaster in Alfred's special forces. Swordsman of Light, Blaster Axe Grawl is one of the best units in an Alfred deck. Once per turn, he gains 3,000 power when an unit is called from the deck to a rear-guard circle. He is Alfred's 12K attacker with additional conditions to be met for the power boost.

Grade 3 Commanders

King of Knights' Vanguard, Ezzell

Ezzel is one of the best Legion revivals. He single handedly made Alfred a good card once again. His Legion skill is an upgraded version of Alfred's skill. His ability superior calls a grade 2, grade 1 and grade 0 card from your deck. That is a huge advantage in many games. You are recruiting your special forces to set up your perfect formation. Their Legion ability can perform many combos with the cards listed above.

Ezzell is benefits from Alfred's second skill. They gain 2,000 power from each Royal Paladin rear-guard on the field. Their maximum power is 31,000. Use Ezzell's ability to superior call enough units to fill your field to maximize the Legion's potential.

King's Adjutant Knight, Galehaut

Galehaut is very useful in Alfred decks. You can ride him and activate his ability to superior ride Alfred as your vanguard. Galehaut will be moved from the soul to ta rear-guard circle. This ability is great to have when you do not have Alfred in your hand to ride the vanguard. Galehaut gives you what you need without actually needing to draw Alfred. There is not any room from him in King of Knight, Alfred's deck. Ezzell takes the second grade 3 spot. If you are not playing Legion, then he is the best grade 3 to play alongside Alfred.

Stride

Transmigratory Dragon, Holy Squire Dragon

Transmigratory Dragon, Holy Squire Dragon is the first G-Unit with a Generation Break 3 skill. He looks like Blaster Blade transformed in a huge dragon with shiny armor. This powerful dragon gains 3,000 for each of your rear-guards on the field. Your rear-guards also gain 2,000 power! Holy Squire Dragon is useful against Star-vaders and other Link Joker decks with the ability lock your units.

The Final Word

My King of Knights, Alfred deck will always hold a special place in my collection for being my first vanguard deck. I am always working on making my deck better. The deck is better than ever with his new support. Generic Royal Paladin support from the G series booster packs has evolved the deck. It will continue to grow as new Royal Paladin cards are released from Bushiroad. I want to see him receive a Cross Ride and at least one more G-Unit in future booster sets. King of Knights Alfred will lead his comrades to victory. His winning image cannot be stopped by anyone.
