News: The Generation Guardians
G-Guardians are the newest defensive G-units in Cardfight!! Vanguard. They made their debut in Cardfight!! Vanguard Girs Crisis! G-Guardians are green cards. They do not have power on the bottom of them instead they have G-Guardian written on the bottom. G-Guardians work similarly to offensive G-units. You must discard a card to properly summon it to the field. They are also in the extra deck. The extra deck's limit has increased to sixteen cards. Cardfight!! Vanguard G Fighters Collection 2016 will feature G-Guardians from all clans!
How G-Guardians Work!
G-Guardians are defensive G-Units in the extra deck. They count towards the extra deck's limited space. G-Guardians are summon to the guardian zone by discarding a heal trigger. Their original shield is 15,000, and can be increased to 20,000 under the proper conditions. You are basically doubling a heal trigger's shield.
Both players must be at Grade 3 to stride a G-Guardian to your guardian circle. G-Guardians court towards Generation Break. Going first does not hurt you in the G-format. Your opponent will be able to stride his vanguard first, and you can guard with your G-Guardian to be trigger Generation Break on the same turn!
There are a few important limitations. You cannot activate any G-Guardians when you have four face up G-Guardians in your G Zone. G-Guardians cannot attack or stride during your turn. G-Guardians are pure defensive units.
Larger Extra Deck
Your extra deck can now have a total of 16 cards. This increase likely occurred for players to keep their offensive G-units and add the new G-Guardians in their extra decks. Decks will have more options to choose from based on the game's current state. Each clan only has one G-Guardian at the moment. We may be able to add more G-Guardians to our decks if more G-Guardians are made for future booster sets.
Block Any Attack!
G-Guardians are able to block attacks from Vanguards with abilities that prevent players from defending with grade one and great cards. G-Guardians are not from your hand. They are from your extra deck. This critical difference makes it possible to shut down nearly unstoppable attacks. Blue Storm Supreme Dragon, Glory Maelstrom's and Blue Storm Dragon, Maelstrom's combo is no longer unstoppable! Summon a G-Guardian from the future to block the attack!
However, G-Guardians are not perfect defenders. They can be removed from the guardian zone by card effects. Super Dimensional Robo, Daikaiser's Break Ride skill can negate a G-Guardian under the proper conditions. G-Guardians have the same weakness as all units with the ability guard.
Everyone wants their opening handing to have a grade one unit, grade two unit, and grade three unit. Triggers typically are sent back to the draw in hopes of checking them later in the match. Now you may want to include a heal trigger in your hand unless you need a particular grade when you redraw your opening hand. You want to conserve Heal Triggers for the later stages in a game. They are our only option to discard to pay for a Generation Guard.

I have been waiting for Bushiroad to develop a new defensive card, and they have finally delivered the goods. G-Guardians bring a breath of relief in Cardfight!! Vanguard. The game has lacked much progress for defensive cards. Offense sells tickets. Defense wins championships! A good defense can also be your best offense. Survive your opponent's strongest attack with your G-Guardians are unleash a counterattack with your best formation!
